The mechanism of dismutation of MnO4 2? via the complex [MTZ–MnO4·OH]2?, formed during the oxidation of metronidazole (MTZ), has been investigated spectrophotometrically at different temperatures. The stoichiometry of the reaction is 1:1, i.e. 1 mol MTZ reacts with 1 mol Mn(VII).The reaction is first order in permanganate, less than first order in [MTZ] and [alkali]. The effects of added products and the dielectric constant and ionic strength of the reaction medium were investigated. The main products were identified by spot test and FT-IR. A mechanism involving a free radical has been proposed. In the equilibrium step MTZ binds to the MnO4 ? species to form a complex (C). Investigation of the reaction at different temperatures enabled determination of the activation data for the slow step of proposed mechanism. The proposed mechanism and the derived rate laws are consistent with the observed kinetics.  相似文献

PVC: polystyrene alloys of varying compositions were prepared by the film casting technique. Thermogravimetric analysis of these materials showed that the decomposition patterns of the alloys are quite different from those of the constituent polymers. These results are explained in terms of polymer interaction phenomena.
Zusammenfassung Mittels eines Feinfoliengiebverfahrens wurden PVC-Polystyrol-Mischungen verschiedener Zusammensetzung gefertigt. Eine thermogravimetrische Analyse dieser Stoffe zeigte, daß sich der Typ der Zersetzung der Mischungen vollständig von dem der reinen Komponenten unterscheidet. Diese Ergebnisse werden als Folge von Polymerwechselwirkungen interpretiert.

Thermodynamic, surface and micellar properties of anti-inflammatory drug sodium 2-(4-isobutylphenyl) propionate (sodium salt of ibuprofen (NaIBF)) in aqueous/urea solution were studied by surface tension measurements at 298.15 K in the presence of anionic surfactant sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS). Critical micelle concentration (cmc), surface tension at cmccmc), maximum Gibbs surface excess (Γmax), minimum surface area per surfactant molecule at the air/water interface (A min) etc. were determined in pure water as well as in aqueous urea solution. The theories of Clint, Rosen and Rubingh have been applied to describe the interactions between these amphiphiles at the interface and in the micellar solution. Various thermodynamic parameters have been calculated and discussed in detail.  相似文献

Anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) are frequently abused in human and animal sports as performance-enhancing drugs, and consequently their use is controlled by international sports authorities. Testosterone is one of the most frequently used AAS, and therefore the accurate determination of its levels in biological fluids is very important. The authors describe the selection of testosterone-binding aptamers performed using a classic SELEX approach with the target immobilized on magnetic beads. Counter selections with structurally similar steroids were implemented at different stages. Pools from different selection rounds were sequenced with Next Generation Sequencing and ten aptamer candidates were selected for further characterization. Low nanomolar range dissociation constants were calculated by a bead-based PCR assay and verified by microscale thermophoresis. Future work will focus on the development of aptamer-based platforms for the sensitive detection of testosterone in biological samples and the validation of these assays for the rapid screening of suspicious samples.

The process let to the identification of several unique aptamer candidates which were characterized and their binding to testosterone was evaluated.

Using time-domain reflectometry (TDR) technique, we have measured the complex permittivity of tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA)–water mixtures in the frequency range of 10 MHz–30GHz, at temperatures 15°C, 20°C and 25°C. The complex permittivity of TBA–water mixture shows Debye-type behaviour. The dielectric parameters such as dielectric constant and relaxation time were obtained from the complex permittivity spectra. The Kirkwood correlation factor and Bruggeman factor have also been determined to investigate inter- and intramolecular interaction among associating liquids.  相似文献

In this account, we describe our recent developments in organocatalyzed asymmetric methodologies for the practical synthesis of both enantiomers. The synthesis of both enantiomeric products by using both enantiomeric catalysts is the most traditional way. In addition, use of two pseudoenantiomeric catalysts provides a more practical approach for the synthesis of both enantiomeric products. Even more efficient is the use of a single enantiomeric catalyst in the presence or absence of certain additives for obtaining both enantiomeric products. These three different strategies are illustrated by using certain organocatalyzed asymmetric approaches.  相似文献

Stable suspensions of zeolite nanosheets (3 nm thick MFI layers) were prepared in ethanol following acid treatment, which partially removed the associated organic structure‐directing agent. Nanosheets from these suspensions could then be dispersed at the air–water interface and transferred to silicon wafers using Langmuir–Schaefer deposition. Using layer‐by‐layer deposition, control on coating thickness was demonstrated. In‐plane X‐ray diffraction (XRD) revealed that the deposited nanosheets contract upon calcination similar to bulk MFI crystals. Different methods for secondary growth resulted in preferentially oriented thin films of MFI, which had sub‐12‐nm thickness in certain cases. Upon calcination, there was no contraction detectable by in‐plane XRD, indicating well‐intergrown MFI films that are strongly attached to the substrate.  相似文献

Cystatins are thiol proteinase inhibitors ubiquitously present in mammalian body and serve various important physiological functions. In the present study, we examined the effects of acid denaturation on newly identified thiol protease inhibitors from the lungs of Capra hircus (Goat) with a focus on protein conformational changes and amyloid fibril formation. Acid denaturation as studied by CD (Circular Dichroism) and fluorescence spectroscopy showed that purified inhibitor named GLC (Goat Lung Cystatin) populates three partly unfolded species, a native like state at pH?3.0, a partly unfolded intermediate at pH2.0, and unstructured unfolded state at pH?1.0, from each of which amyloid like fibrils grow as assessed by thioflavin T (ThT) spectroscopy. The result showed, native like structure formed at pH?3.0 is more responsive towards amyloid formation when compare to other conformation of proteins. Morphology of the protein species incubated for amyloid process was observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Moreover, anti-fibrillogenic effects of curcumin and quercetin were analysed using ThT binding assay. Curcumin and quercetin produced a concentration dependent decline inThT fluorescence suggesting deaggregation of the fibrils. When added prior to amyloid fibril initiation 50 μM curcumin inhibited amyloid aggregation. However, more quercetin is needed to prevent the same extent of fibrillation. Implications for therapeutics in view of polyphenols as essential nutrients are suggested in lung diseases.  相似文献
